The 34th year of Bislig City Water District in the water service has continually been a battle to enhance its services, however; May 19 was celebrated with momentous activities.
The celebration focused on watersheds consciousness with slogan “Help us plant trees and protect our watersheds for sustainable water supply".The affair commenced with volleyball, bowling and bakya race tournament on May 14, 17 & 18, 2010.
A 30 minutes hook-up radio program was held on May 19 6:00 am at Real FM, Radyo Natin and WOW FM tackling the significance of watersheds in our daily use of water and the strong campaign to help protect them. The morning program was anchored by For. Jessril A. Oval and Evan Swandie G. Pedrosa.
This was followed by an 8:00 am Thanksgiving Mass Celebration officiated by Fr. Rev. Edgar A. Clar at the BCWD compound. The BCWD contingent proceeded to the newly-constructed Central SACK Watersheds Nursery at Barangay San Antonio for the blessing.
Thereafter, all employees went to lot #2028 of the SACK Watersheds for the tree planting trek. They planted 400 large leaf mahogany seedlings. The event was halted briefly with a salo salo lunch and a short fun of singing, awarding of loyalty service and prizes to the winners of the sports events.
The Anniversary observance was concluded with a short program with the Purok 4 residents and distribution of bundles of joy at their Purok Hall.
They were all happy and grateful for the blessings, which they did not expect.
